Designing Worlds DW278 - Second Life 12th Birthday Community Celebration Pt.1
In this episode, we present the first of two visits to the Second Life 12th Birthday Community Celebration, recognising the 12th anniversary of the launch of Second Life. At this time every year, a group of regions is covered in artistic and informative builds on a different theme - this year it's "What Dreams May Come". The Celebration combines an enormous collection of builds created by residents with larger "public" builds like the performance stages and the Welcome Area.
This week Aisling Sinclair, standing in for Saffia, and Elrik Merlin talk to SL12B Event Co-lead Marianne McCann about her Bay City build and about the concept behind this year's celebration; and to Jo Yardley, who brought a little of her 1920s Berlin project to SL12B. They visit some of the resident builds, and the show includes an extended slideshow of stunning images of the event by photographer Wildstar Beaumont.
