Designing Worlds DW330 - Second Life Museum of Nuclear Warfare
In this episode, we take the first of two visits to the Second Life Museum of Nuclear Warfare, where we meet the Curator and Director, OtakuSenpai Button, who shows us around some of the exhibits.
After an introduction to the facility, we start off with a look at the Manhattan Project, which resulted in the development of the atomic bomb by the United States towards the end of the Second World War. We also look at the subsequent development of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan.
We then move on to consider nuclear power - and what can go wrong - with a detailed analysis of the Chernobyl disaster. It's followed by a look at reactor control mechanisms and some very early - and very dangerous - nuclear experiments.
